The former Imperial House office building for the HQ of The Intercontinental Hotel Group secured planning permission in 2011 for the demolition of the existing buildings and for four new blocks set around a landscaped public realm space. The new designs doubled the existing net lettable area of the site achieving a total 250,000 sqft, the project had wellbeing and placemaking at its heart with a centralized landscaped communal zone linking all the buildings together and reconnecting Alma Road with Vansittart Park.
