Royal Holloway College was founded by Thomas Holloway and opened by Queen Victoria in 1886. The architect was William Henry Crossland. Edgingtons have worked on some 200 different contracts including laboratories and science buildings, an arts building and work on the botany and physics departments as well as a bank.

The practice has also designed a range of residential accommodation including “Kingswood”, a campus development for 300 students and residential accommodation for a further 200 students in the form of shared houses and flats.
