12 Pupil Additional Resourced Provision (ARP) for SEMH and ASC needs.

Edgingtons were appointed by West Berkshire Council to design a new build SEND facility at Kennet Valley Primary School.

The building accommodates 12 pupils with social emotional and mental health (SEMH) and autistic spectrum condition (ASC) needs, and comprises of two classrooms, four group rooms, food technology room, therapy room, social and dining area, staff offices, meeting room and supporting sanitary facilities.

The proposal involved the submission of a Section 77 application for the change of use of part of the existing playing field and the design from RIBA Stage 2 to 4 for the new building. Edgingtons worked with a multi-disciplinary team, engaging with the school and other local authority stakeholders, undertaking pre-planning discussions, submitting the planning application, developing the detailed and technical design and overseeing the contractor tender process and construction on site.
