Great Martins – Shurlock Row

A comprehensive refurbishment, renovation and extension of a Grade 2 listed private dwelling in Shurlock Row. Historically the house is of significantly different eras and building style. Originally a 16th Century Manor House, this was extended to become a large brewery and owners house in Victorian times. Much of the brewery had been demolished to make way for early and late 20th Century additions.

The 14 acre Estate, in the Green Belt and Conservation area, was comprehensively re-landscaped including new formal gardens and new woodland areas. The existing out of character 1980`s additions were removed and replaced with sensitively designed new building to provide new banqueting and leisure spaces. It was necessary to work closely with the Local Authority Conservation Officer to ensure the design, materials and workmanship were of the highest standards.
