Numerous plots within the Fitzhugh Estate were evaluated but only two were identified as suitable for development due to constraints including overlooking, mature trees and access.
This infill site sits between the railway and main road to the north of the estate and is currently occupied by a nursery and community centre, heating network plant room and a dozen garages.
The community centre is to be relocated on the estate enabling the new fourteen storey block to be positioned around the existing heating plant room and closely replicate the spacing of the existing point blocks on the estate.
