Heritage

From listed buildings to greenbelt contexts, we conserve and reimagine heritage assets with care and expertise.

Our work extends into regeneration, transforming property and places into sustainable assets that respect their past whilst securing their future.

Edgingtons has been actively involved in conservation and heritage projects since its foundation 170 years ago. Our portfolio spans Grade I and Grade II listed buildings, with a track record that combines deep respect for the historic built environment with an ability to adapt heritage assets for contemporary use.

History routed in our DNA

Reginald Hyne, one of our early partners, became nationally recognised for his pioneering work in “Conserving the Historic Built Environment.” Some of our earliest projects at Windsor Castle were personally commissioned by the King, and our archives chart a rich architectural and cultural history of Windsor, Eton, and the surrounding areas. More recently, we masterminded a facelift of Windsor and Eton, co-developing a paint palette for facades, woodwork, and bridges within the Royal Borough.

Today, we remain committed to preserving and enhancing the historic environment by specifying appropriate materials, respecting original craftsmanship, and embracing innovation in design and technology.

From listed buildings to greenbelt settings, our work balances statutory requirements and conservation ethics with creativity and sustainability.

Alongside conservation, our regeneration projects transform property and places into long-term sustainable assets, driving cultural, social, and economic value while safeguarding historic character.

Edgingtons bring real sensitivity and expertise to our heritage projects. They balance respect for historic fabric with imaginative design, creating spaces that are both functional and future ready. Their understanding of conservation standards, combined with a clear approach to regeneration, has delivered sustainable outcomes that secure our buildings’ legacies while enhancing their role within the community.
